Royal B. Lea III

Royal Lea has practiced civil trial law in San Antonio since 1986 — 40 years of courtroom experience. His securities practice today centers on private placements and unregistered offerings, and he continues to represent a small number of long-standing clients in commercial litigation, real estate disputes, fiduciary claims, and disputes between business owners.

He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization — a credential earned by a small fraction of practicing Texas attorneys. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Public Investors Advocacy Bar Association, where he previously served as Co-Chair of the Amicus Brief Committee, helping craft the arguments used nationally to protect investors' rights in securities disputes.

Royal also serves as a FINRA arbitrator, appointed to hear and decide disputes between investors and the brokerage industry. That dual perspective — advocate and neutral — is rare, and it shapes how he builds a case: he knows exactly what an arbitration panel is looking for, because he has been the panel.
